Ben posizionato, a 400 mt dal centro storico di Courmayeur e dagli impianti di risalita, il nostro hotel vi offre l’occasione di soggiornare in uno chalet esclusivo e confortevole. Gli eleganti ambienti alpini riproducono fedelmente l’arte povera della nostra regione e creano un clima di calore ed intimità. L’hotel, nato nell’immediato dopoguerra come tipico chalet svizzero, è stato ristrutturato nel primo decennio del millennio in corso e da allora ogni anno riserva qualche novità ai propri ospiti. Sono stati utilizzati – e lavorati artigianalmente – esclusivamente legno ed altri materiali recuperati dalla struttura preesistente e da altre antiche residenze alpine. La gestione e la proprietà sono da sempre della stessa famiglia di valligiani, giunta oramai alla terza generazione e con la quarta che bussa alla porta. Proprietari e staff lavorano in piena armonia per farvi sentire a casa. Troverete un ambiente informale in cui regnano cordialità e buonumore. I bambini sono i benvenuti. I cani sono amati e troveranno il nostro Giotto ad accoglierli. Il lounge bar, con caminetto sempre acceso in inverno, è magnifico. Al ristorante, per la tipicità degli ambienti e dei prodotti alimentari utilizzati, la Regione Valle d’Aosta ha assegnato il marchio Saveurs du Val d’Aoste. Mangerete à la carte anche se avrete optato per il trattamento di mezza pensione. La carta dei vini, elaborata per proporre principalmente quelli italiani e, di montagna, quelli valdostani, conta circa 150 selezionatissime etichette. Dall’hotel Svizzero si gode di una meravigliosa vista sul Dente del Gigante e sul caratteristico villaggio di Dolonne. Dispone di due ampi terrazzi, uno verde ad uso bar ed uno in legno con vasca idromassaggio ad uso solarium.
WELCOME TO CHALET SVIZZERO
Well located, just 400 metres from the historical centre of Courmayeur and the ski lifts, our hotel offers you the chance to stay in an exclusive and comfortable chalet. The elegant Alpine furniture faithfully recreates our region’s country-style design, creating a warm, cosy environment. The hotel, established immediately after the Second World War as a typical Swiss chalet, was restored in the first decade of the new millennium and since then every year it offers its guests something new. Only original wood and artisan materials recovered from the pre-existing building and from other old Alpine residences have been used. Management and ownership have always been in the same local family, now in its third generation, with the fourth knocking on the door. Owners and staff work in complete harmony to make you feel at home. An informal environment awaits you, full of friendliness and cheer. Children are always welcome. We also love dogs, who will be welcomed by our very own “Giotto”. The lounge bar is magnificent, with a fire that’s always lit in winter. The Valle d’Aosta Region awarded our restaurant the Saveurs du Val d’Aoste seal of quality for the typical character of the interior and the food products used. You will eat à la carte even if you have chosen the half board service. The wine list, developed to offer mainly Italian, and Valdostan wines, boasts around 150 highly-selected labels. The Hotel Svizzero enjoys a marvellous view of the Dent du Géant (the Giant’s Tooth) mountain and of the traditional village of Dolonne. It has two large terraces, one outdoor, used as a bar and one in wood with a hot tub for sunbathing.

L’hotel Svizzero dispone di 28 camere con bagno (7 doppie standard, 4 doppie superior, 7 triple, 1 tripla superior, 4 family room, 1 family room superior, 2 junior suite, 1 suite ed 1 suite superior), molto calde ed accoglienti, alcune soppalcate e tutte diverse l’una dall’altra. I rivestimenti e gli arredi sono realizzati artigianalmente con legni di recupero e tessuti naturali. Esse si distinguono per esposizione: il lato est (strada) con vista sulla catena del Monte Bianco, il lato sud rivolto verso Courmayeur capoluogo e il lato ovest (fiume) con vista sul villaggio di Dolonne. All’interno delle camere E’ VIETATO FUMARE e, in quelle sprovviste di cucina, E’ VIETATO PREPARARE PASTI CALDI. L’accesso alle camere avviene a mezzo badge.
ROOMS
The Hotel Svizzero has 28 rooms with bathrooms (7 doubles standard, 7 doubles superior, 3 triples standard, 2 triples superior, 5 family rooms, 1 family room superior, 2 suites, 1 junior suite), which are very warm and welcoming, some with mezzanine, each very different from one another. The coverings and furnishings are produced with artisan work in recovered wood and natural materials. The following views are available: on the east side (road), there is a view of the Mont Blanc range, and the west side (river) has a view of the village of Dolonne. NO SMOKING. To maximise security, access to rooms is through a swipe card.
UN PO’ DI STORIA
Walter Hurzeler, figlio di un artigiano svizzero dell’Argovia venuto a inizio ‘900 a Courmayeur per cercare l’oro nel Monte Bianco, è stato un bravissimo falegname. Con l’avvento del turismo invernale, si specializzò anche nella costruzione di sci. Nell’immediato dopoguerra, siccome la sua abitazione-laboratorio si trovava a metà strada tra il centro del paese e lo slittone che trasportava gli sciatori al Chécrouit, decise di costruirvi accanto una pensioncina da far gestire a sua moglie ed alle sue due figlie. Fu presto venduta e con il ricavato fu casa sua a trasformarsi in un vero e proprio hotel, tutto in legno. Le sue origini diedero il nome. Era un semplice 2 stelle. Mezzo secolo dopo la terza generazione ha ristrutturato mantenendo stile e nome. Solo la categoria è cambiata.
A BIT OF HISTORY
Walter Hurzeler, son of a Swiss craftsman from Argovia, and a great carpenter himself, came to Courmayeur in the early ‘900s to search for gold in Mont Blanc. With the beginning of Winter tourism, he also specialised in ski-making. Immediately after the war, as his home-workshop was located halfway between the village centre and the sledges that brought skiers to Chécrouit, he decided to build a guesthouse beside it that his wife and two daughters would have managed. It was soon sold and with the proceeds he transformed his very own house into a proper hotel, all in wood. His Swiss origins gave the hotel, a simple 2-star establishment, its name. Fifty years later the third generation rebuilt it, keeping the same style and name. Only the star rating changed.
RISTORANTE
Il ristorante, molto apprezzato anche dalla clientela esterna, è “à la carte” e il menu, che varia ogni stagione, è un percorso alla scoperta dei sapori autentici del nostro territorio. E’ dotato anche di ampio terrazzo nel verde e con bellissima vista sul villaggio di Dolonne ove, in estate, è possibile consumare prima colazione e cena. La lista dei vini raggruppa oltre 150 etichette. Non abbiamo voluto inserire vini di altre regioni alpine perché riteniamo che il livello dei vini valdostani sia pari o superiore e siamo orgogliosi di promuoverli. Per le sue caratteristiche di tipicità e genuinità, al nostro ristorante è stato assegnato dalla Regione Valle d’Aosta il marchio SAVEURS DU VAL D’AOSTE. Per i clienti che optano per la mezza pensione alcuni piatti potrebbero avere un sovrapprezzo. Si organizzano cerimonie e banchetti. Può essere servita la cena nel centro benessere se affittato in esclusiva. In alcuni periodi di bassa stagione il ristorante rimane chiuso: si invita la gentile clientela a informarsi all’atto della prenotazione.

The restaurant, also very popular with external clients, is à la carte and the menu, that changes according to the season, is a journey of discovery of authentic local flavours. It has a large outdoor terrace with a beautiful view of the village of Dolonne, where breakfast and dinner are served in summer. The wine list contains over 150 labels. We didn’t include wines from other Alpine regions because we believe that the standard of Valdostan wines is equal or superior and we want to proudly promote them. The Region of Valle d’Aosta awarded our restaurant the Saveurs du Val d’Aoste seal of quality for its typical and authentic character. Some dishes may have a surcharge for guests on half board accommodation. We can arrange ceremonies and banquets. Dinner can also be served in the wellness centre, if privately hired. In some periods during low season the restaurant will be closed: please check when booking.
CENTRO BENESSERE E SPA
Il nostro piccolo centro benessere è molto “cosy”; è composto da sauna, hammam, zona relax, un terrazzo solarium di 200 mq con vasca idromassaggio e una caratteristica stanzetta riservata ai massaggi; è aperto dalle 15.00 alle 20.00; l’ingresso costa € 20; è sempre richiesta la prenotazione in reception con un’ora di anticipo, da effettuarsi non oltre le h. 17.00. Thè e tisane sono a disposizione dei clienti. Il centro benessere può essere affittato in esclusiva da un massimo di 6 persone, sia nell’orario di apertura che fuori orario (al mattino dalle 10.00 alle 12.30 e la sera fino alle 24) a € 180 (150 se per solo 1 coppia). E’ richiesta la prenotazione da effettuarsi entro le 20.00 del giorno precedente. La nostra gentile massaggiatrice è a vostra disposizione tutti i giorni, preferibilmente nel pomeriggio. WELNESS CENTER AND SPA
Our little wellness centre is very cosy; it has a sauna, hammam, relaxation area, 200 sq. m sunbathing terrace with hot tub and a small traditional room for massages: it is open from 3pm until 8pm; the entrance fee is €20; it’s essential to book it at the reception at least one hour in advance, but not after 5pm. Tea and infusions are provided for guests. The wellness centre can be hired for exclusive use by 6 people maximum, both during opening hours or outside these hours (in the morning from 10am until 12.30 or in the evening until 12am) for €180 (150 if for just 1 couple). Please book by 8pm the day before. Our lovely masseuse is available every day, preferably in the afternoon. Please book an appointment the day before by 8pm.
CHALET SVIZZERO
Antistante l’hotel è stato ricostruito un tipico chalet Svizzero composto da due splendide junior suite, ideali per coppie, una per piano, ciascuna di 36 m2 circa, con accesso indipendente e dotate di cucinino. Il wi-fi è disponibile gratuitamente. Quella al piano terreno dispone di un piccolo giardino in uso esclusivo e può ospitare al massimo 4 persone, quella sottotetto ha ampio balcone e può ospitare al massimo 3 persone. Possono essere affittate sia come camere hotel che come appartamenti; in quest’ultimo caso non sono compresi nel prezzo prima colazione e garage, e le pulizie – escluse le stoviglie – ed il cambio biancheria da letto e da bagno vengono effettuati settimanalmente.
SWISS CHALET
A typical Swiss chalet has been recreated in front of the hotel, housing two beautiful junior suites that are perfect for couples. There is one on each floor, approx. 36 sq. m each, with private entrance and kitchenette. Free wi-fi. The ground floor suite can accommodate up to 4 people and has a small private garden, while the loft suite can accommodate up to 3 people and has a large balcony. They can be rented as either hotel rooms or apartments. If rented as apartments, breakfast and garage are not included in the price. Cleaning – except crockery – and linen and towel change are carried out weekly.
